Kids In The Kitchen: Get Your Kids Cooking

Get Your Kids off Electronics and Into The Kitchen This Fall!

Are you looking for a unique extracurricular program for your kids to do this fall? How about getting them into the kitchen for a few lessons on cooking? This fall, The Grange is offering a fun series of cooking classes that will allow your kids to learn their way around the kitchen under the watchful eye of a professional. Just in time for the fall baking season, Kids in the Kitchen will allow your kids to learn how to bake a variety of sweet treats.

So, what’s on the dessert menu?

Kids in the Kitchen Class – Baking Series

Class 1 – Wed. October 16 – Pâte Sablée

The first class will have your kids baking classic pâte sablée with rich vanilla cream. Your kids will get introduced to knife skills as they slice and dice fresh fruit. To top off the first week, they’ll make a delightful apple glaze to top off their delicious tarts.

Class 2 – Wed. October 23 – Brownies & Blondies

What kid doesn’t like chocolate? Week 2 brings on the sweetness of exploring various types of chocolates. Your kids will make their own triple chocolate brownies! If that’s not enough, they’ll also bake Cookie’s N’ Cream blondies.

Class 3 – Wed. October 30 – Cupcakes

Week three will hone in on the detail work that comes with baking. Your children will learn a unique and trendy Russian piping technique. They’ll blow your mind with their decorating skills as they bake and decorate cupcakes.

Class 4 – Wed. November 6 – Marbled Fondant Cakes

The series wraps up with your kids learning how to bake a marbled fondant cake. Students will bake their own cake and then make their own buttercream fondant from scratch.
