4th of July Safety: Castle Rock Fireworks Bucket Brigade
Who doesn’t love fireworks? Judging by the activity throughout the years I’ve lived here, a lot of Meadows residents enjoy the lights and bangs of a good 4th of July celebration. Along with the 4th of July celebration here in The Meadows, the town puts on a fantastic fireworks show as well.
While it might be fun to celebrate, it’s essential to be safe and safely dispose of your fireworks. That’s why the town is introducing the Fireworks Bucket Brigade. This program is designed to help keep you and your home safe when shooting off personal fireworks.
How The Bucket Brigade Works
Castle Rock Fire and Rescue, along with the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, have joined together to provide safety buckets and instructions on how to get rid of your used fireworks properly. Together, they’re distributing 5-gallon buckets to local fireworks stands. Each bucket will have clear instructions and stickers on how to get rid of fireworks.
When you visit one of these stands, you’ll get a bucket with your fireworks purchase:
- Davey Jones Fireworks, 1048 Brookside, Castle Rock
- Davey Jones Fireworks, 3159 Castleton, Castle Rock
- TNT Fireworks, 5050 Factory Shops Blvd., Castle Rock
- TNT Fireworks, 5940 Promenade, Castle Rock
- TNT Fireworks, 441 Perry Street, Castle Rock
Supplies will be limited.
How to Properly Dispose of Fireworks
If you do have some fun with personal fireworks, make sure you have a bucket full of water to place your used fireworks in and let them soak overnight. Doing this will help reduce any risk of fire. You can find these tips and more by visiting the town’s fireworks safety page here.
The 4th of July is a great time to celebrate our nation. This year, it will be even better with the holiday falling on a Friday! Make sure you don’t miss the events happening here in The Meadows at Bison Park and then the fantastic fireworks display the town puts on Friday evening. You can learn more here.
